The general principle of luck in its broadest sense; from the pure randomized luck of gambling to anthropomorphic occultism and spirituality. By visually contemplating luck and its human interpretation, it questions not only the way we receive it but also how we approach it.
As humans share a belief in good and bad luck, destiny, and self-engagement in life, we also constantly gamble with luck in a contemporary society; substance abuse, travel insurance policies, crossing the street at a red light, dating apps, and so on.

As luck is supposedly closely connected to happiness, the two terms are different as to luck having a tragic and bittersweet scent to it since it can be good or bad, hard to grasp, and sometimes even harder to realize.

Paul Mogwitz is an artist based in Rotterdam and is temporarily staying in Athens. His works manifest in sculpture and painting and playfully explore the oxymoron world of superstition and contemporary existence.
