PREFACE — Eleanor Lines, Julia Vogl & Eskofier:)Sonne
26/11/22
PREFACE was the first exhibition that took place in Living Room. It presented the works of artists Eleanor Lines, Julia Vogl and design duo Eskofier:)Sonne. As the title suggests, it is the introduction of whatever might come and alludes to exploration, discovery and a beginning.
Eleanor Lines
@eleanorlines is an artist from London and has been based in Athens for over 5 years. Her work explores rhythm, geometry, architecture and movement predominately through the mediums of screen print and painting. The city itself has been a continuous inspiration for her, drawing upon the architectural motifs of the doors, she deconstructs these into her own abstract formations using a sun-kissed palette which references the dramatic light shifts of the city. She is the founder of Kypseli Print Studio where she hosts artists in residence and teaches workshops.

She is best known for her large-scale public art social sculptures that often rely on data collected from community. For the last 16 years Vogl has been a dedicated screen printer, just finishing a residency at KPS in October 2022. Driven with a passion for colour and pattern she is always experimenting and wanting to push the medium.

Eskofier:)Sonne
@eskofier_sonne is a design/artist duo from Germany. The two are currently in residency at Kypseli Print Studio. Their imagery shifts between figurative and abstract compositions. By juxtaposing papercuts, drawings and digital elements, pictures become collages of their environment.
